Fan Bingbing first rose to fame in China for a supporting role in the first two seasons of Chinese television series My Fair Princess.

After that, her acting career took off, and Fan earned the Best Actress award at the 27th Hundred Flowers Awards (think Chinas version of the Golden Globes) for her role in the 2003 Chinese film Cell Phone.
